Yes, I can imagine allowing pop-before-smtp to have the local domain added, although presumably this is the same sort of logic as real authentication. As a user I tend to think of it in terms of the smtpd_*_restrictions and permit_mynetworks et al. although I am not sure that that is the area of code that does the re-writing. If this can be sorted out then it would be a major gain. Thank you for looking into it.
