Cannot connect from Outlook

I just set up a Postfix server and I cannot connect to
my mailbox using outlook over an internet connection. 
Actually, I do connect to the server, but
authorization fails.

Outlook lists the server response as:

'-ERR Unknown AUTHORIZATION state command'

and lists server error:

0X800CCC90

and error number

0X800CCC91

I have added my server name with virtual following the
name in my virtual database and postmapped it also
with my address and local username.

Can anyone help me?
